Laurie Kilmartin: Love is a Laugh!

The Comedy Underground, Seattle’s longest-running comedy club, brings its traditional Valentine’s Day show to Kirkland Performance Center. A lineup of top stand-up comedy headliners make this Valentine show a great date!

The Valentine’s Day show will feature real-life husband and wife comedians LAURIE KILMARTIN and CHRIS MATA from New York. Kilmartin and Mata recently became parents for the first time.

Laurie Kilmartin

Like the proverbial salesman who can pawn off ice cubes to an Eskimo, Laurie delights in selling pro-choice jokes to a conservative crowd, date rape jokes to a PC crowd and high school football jokes to a Texan crowd. (Ok, that was a joke- no one can make fun of high school football in Texas).

Laurie has performed on ABC's Jimmy KImmel Live, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The USO Tour, Tough Crowd and the World Stands Up. She has been featured at comedy festivals in Montreal, Aspen and Edinburgh. She has also written for CBS's The Late Show and Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Corolla.

Chris Mata

Chris was born and raised in the small town of Converse, TX. A former martial arts instructor (he's a 2nd degree black belt in TaeKwonDo and trained in Judo, Jujitsu and kickboxing), Chris started comedy in late 1999 at the Rivercenter Comedy Club in San Antonio.

In 2002, he became a finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition - previous finalists include Robin Williams, Dana Carvey and Ellen DeGeneres. Chris moved to New York in 2004 and has since appeared on SiTV's Latino Laugh Festival and Comedy Central's Premium Blend.
