Show your originality and comedic talent by creating a YouTube video to show the world a humorous look on what you’re a fanatic about!

Who: Open to the Public! First 20 valid contestants will receive a pair of tickets to a preview performance.

The Prize: Two Grand Prize winners will be chosen. Each will receive four tickets to The Drowsy Chaperone, hotel stay at Mayflower Park Hotel, $150 at Purple Café & Wine Bar Seattle and more!

To Enter: Create a video with a comedic look at what makes you a fanatic! Valid entries must be sent as a YouTube link to fanatic@5thavenue.org by October 10. Videos must be between 10 seconds and 2 minutes and be rated PG (containing no coarse language or material). This is a great opportunity for self-promotion as a performer or as part of a performing group. Feel free to include your name, short bio and website in the video but remember the objective is to make people laugh by talking about your fanaticism.

Why: The Tony Award winning show, The Drowsy Chaperone is a rare combo of unprecedented originality and comedic talent, addressing the desire in all: to be entertained. As the audience, we get to see a mad-cap comedy through the eyes of a die-hard musical theatre fanatic, “The Man In The Chair.” In the spirit of this comedy and show theme, this promotional contest will help spread the word about the production as well as introduce the community to the comedic talents we have in our area.

The Details: Multiple people may appear in the video but the group will be treated as one contestant. Multiple entries will be accepted from each contestant. Semi-finalists will only be represented by their top video. You can create a character or just be yourself. Videos can be fictional or non-fictional but must be original works by the contestant. Video submissions must be under 2 minutes to qualify and be PG, with no coarse language or material, as semi-finalists and finalists will be posted on The 5th Avenue Theatre website. Videos must be uploaded to your own YouTube page and emailed to fantatic@5thavenue.org by October 10 to be eligible for semi-finalist status. This contest is open to the public, so please spread the word.

Beginning September 29, Semi-finalists will be chosen and sent confirmation with a link to the Semi-finalist page when their video is posted so they can send their friends to view their video.. Finalists will be chosen based on comedic talent and number of views. One Grand Prize Winner will be chosen by a panel of judges. The other Grand Prize will be given the “Viewer’s Choice” Award based on the number of votes emailed to vote@5thavenue.org. One vote per valid email address.
