Comedy News: Get Ready Seattle for a WEEK OF FUN

Week of Fun

The Fifth Annual WEEK OF FUN festival is happening in Seattle January 20-26 and Comedy Underground is happy to be part of it.

The Week of Fun is a full week of comedy specials around Seattle, which kicks of January 20 with Orally Fixated. This month the subject is Roommate Horror Stories.

On Friday January 21, the festival presents Bloody Weird, a combination weirdo standups and an honest-to-badass LIVE SLASHER MOVIE made up in front of your eyes by improv supergroup Blood Squad.

Saturday January 22 brings Super Mega Art Show. If you like over-the-top pretentious performance art, this show is for you. Fake Performance Artists Hanz and Hiemen will make more artistic art in a minute than most artists make in a lifetime.

Sunday January 23, Week of Fun presents Weird and Awesome with Emmett Montgomery in a eclectic variety show, featuring songs, storytelling, audience participation and more. It’s like having your heart and feet tickled at the same time. The show also includes Ahamefule Oluo and Drew Barth.

Monday January 24 is naturally the highlight of the Week of Fun because it's Celebrity Open Mic!

Local celebrities take to the stage to tell stories, read diaries, and talk about how they managed to make the pinnacle of their career this one not-to-miss show. The show will feature John Keister, KIRO/NPR’s Luke Burbank, The Stranger’s Charles Mudede and more. This is always one of the most fun nights of the festival.

January 25 brings the next-to-last episode of the greatest action/comedy/sci-fi TV show ever shown exclusively in a bar! Award-winning Seattle comedians and filmmakers Travis Vogt and Kevin Clarke return. This show also features Paul Merrill (Adventure Buddies), Rylee Newton (Comedy Central) and Airpocalypse (America’s Got Talent).

Finally January 26 the Week of Fun concludes with the Joketeller’s Union. This show features Solomon Georgio (Gay Chocolate Superstar), Brett Hamil (“Ham Radio with Brett Hamil” on iTunes), Dartanion London (“Social Comedia” on Amazon), Brian Boshes (Jewish Wolverine Impersonator) and Ross Parsons (Perennial Weirdo) with Secret Special Guests (Nonthreatening).
